Say it, Do it. (period)

It’s early on Friday night and I’m obsessively checking out the photos Shalane Flannagan recently updated to her Facebook fan page. Earlier today while shopping in The Container Store for some home office supplies, I bought the largest cork board I could find. I “jokingly” told my husband that one half is for pictures of Shalane and Kara Goucher for inspiration and the other half is for work related inspiration.

Guess what? I wasn’t joking ;)

Inspiration is truly everywhere right now. The Olympic Trials just ended, the Tour de France is in full force, Wimbledon has been on all week and the NYC Triathlon was held today not to mention the actual Olympics begin later in the month. There’s really no excuse to not be fired up about your fitness goals! All of these athletes are freaking amazing and their dedication to the sport makes dreams come true.

That being said let’s knock it out of the park this week with our SIDI commitments.

Here are the workouts I’m committed to KILLING this week:

  • Monday: Rest
  • Tuesday: 5 mile tempo run/Strength
  • Wednesday: 7 miles at recovery pace
  • Thursday: Rest or cross training of some sort
  • Friday: 5 miles including 4 Harlem Hill repeats/ Strength
  • Saturday: 60 minute Soul-Cycle Class
  • Sunday: 12 mile run

What professional athlete inspires you the most? What workouts are you committing to this week?

I haven’t really followed any professional athletes. In honesty, I’ve been inspired by a bunch of my favorite bloggers. I think even though some of them are amazing, since they are not elite/pro athletes and just “normal” people it makes it so much more realistic and make me feel like “I can do that!” ya know?

    Tue: 5 mile run
    Wed: Physique 57
    Thurs:3 mile run
    Fri: Spin
    Sat: 9 miles
    Sun: Off

I love this SIDI! I am very successful most weeks with my normal workouts; running and weights at gym. But I have been wanting to do a decent yoga practice for months at least 3x per week, working on this daily, this week I am going to SIDI…TBD :) Kimmer

I don’t really follow pros because I will never be near that good, but I love reading stories of other bloggers. People who have lost weight, gotten health, run races I want to do etc.

I was literally just saying this to someone. For someone to not be motivated right now is ridiculous.

    I just checked out Shalane’s page, a-mazing!
