Nike+ Training Workout with Lady Foot Locker
Lurking around nearly every corner in Manhattan is a fun free workout. There are bi-weekly yoga classes in Bryant Park, Boot Camps on Sundays and week day run clubs at Lululemon, Pilates and Zumba at Athleta, and many more!
Yesterday, I cleared my lunch schedule to join Lady Foot locker for a free workout featuring the new Nike+ Training app. The workout took place at Rivington Court on the Lower East Side.
The sun was blazing and the tunes were pumping as the Nike Trainers took us through two short intense workouts.
The first workout was based off of the Nike+ Training workout and was much more of a challenge than I anticipated. It’s been a long time since I’ve done a push-up pyramid and my chest is feeling it today.
The second workout was an actual workout from the Nike+ Training app. The ten minute workout was short and sweet (and by sweet I mean challenging).
The workout begins with instructions on how to correctly do the first exercise. Then the clock starts and it’s time to actually do the workout. Each exercise is completed for a specific amount. When paired with the Nike+ Training shoe it records your every move. As you jump and squat your way to strong the app counts down the amount of time you have left to complete the exercise. Once the time is up and you’ve completed an exercise, it records how many squats, push-ups, etc you completed in the allotted time. You then move on to the next exercise in the workout.
I’m not usually a workout app kind of girl, but this one is great! I look forward to pairing it with the Nike+Training shoes Lady Foot Locker sent over in the upcoming weeks to squeeze in some extra plyos! I’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
Do you use any of the Nike+ Training apps? What’s your favorite free group workout in NYC or in your neighborhood?
{Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. The Nike+ Training and Lady Foot Locker workout was free and open to the public. I received a pair of Nike+ Training Shoes for review purposes}

How awesome that there are free workout all over. I guess that is one of the pros of living in a big city.
I wanted to go to that. Looks like an awesome time.
It was fun!
You just blew my mind with all the free fitness events. I have to make it to the free yoga in Bryant Park one of these days!
Yes, you should!
