Class Review: Figure 4 @ Pure Yoga West {instructor Carrie}
Class: Figure 4
Class Location: Pure Yoga West
Instructor: Carrie
Class Description: “Created by professional ballet dancer Kate Albarelli, Figure 4 combines elements of classic dance training, Pilates, yoga, and free weights. This combination is part of a high energy class that works the heart and the limbs in tandem for faster, more effective results, helping to create a long, toned and flexible body” (From the Pure Yoga website).

Favorite things about the class:
- High energy
- Carrie was knowledgeable and helpful – she introduced herself to me since I was new
- Varied exercises keep it interesting
Least favorite things about the class:
- Need to be a member of Pure Yoga with the Figure Four membership to take the class
- There were some times where it was a little hard for a beginner – she gave a lot of advice on how to make something harder, but not how to adapt it for injuries etc.
- The membership is too expensive, therefore I won’t be going back.
Overall class rating: 5 0ut of 5 stars
Additional Comments: The class uses a ballet bar, light and mid-weight dumbbells, mats, and cushions to give a cardio/yoga/dance etc. workout. The class time is divided between working your quads, arms, abs and butt.

Yoga — which reminds me I need to go back to a class…but one that is affordable:)
This review provided more complaints than insight. As a member I think affordabilty is a matter of personal situations and priorities. I used to go to several barre classes in the city and pay $30 bucks a pop. The figure 4 membership is $100 extra a month. So even if you only go once a week you are getting the better end of the deal. 2-3 times would be ideal!
All equinox members can try out a Figure 4 class in the month of Feb. I am signed up for one this week – I’m excited!
