My Post Run Core Workout

2012 January 10
by Jess

I got home from my short (read 1.5 mile) run and knew I needed to do some core work. Knowing I wanted to share it with all of you, I grabbed my ipad and asked my husband to film me just after I finished the workout.

As always, you don’t need any equipment to do this workout. You’ll get in a little bit of upper body and work those core muscle groups (think glutes, hamstrings, obliques, abdominals) in just a few minutes on the floor.

*I recommend doing two sets of the leg exercises and planks. Complete one complete round, then repeat for two rounds.

If you enjoy the workout, share it with a friend!

This is awesome – it’s like an amped up version of the PT exercises I am supposed to be doing every day.

Thanks for this…and for the motivation. I’m terrible about making myself do something *after* a run. Even if it is only 1.5 miles. :) But it’s the perfect time to do it, so I’ll DO IT tonight, dang it! :) Love your blog, btw! Just subscribed! :)

I like this! It goes along well with my “back to basics” approach I’m trying to take (as in, not only going to the wildest fitness classes around but actually have a pattern/routine with my strength & core workouts!).
