Class Review: Barry’s Bootcamp {instructors Stephanie & Keoni}
Class: Barry’s Bootcamp
Class Location: Barry’s Bootcamp Studio NYC
Instructor: Stephanie Nieman & Keoni Hudoba
Class Description: “All Barry’s Bootcamp classes are one hour, and each class includes 25 to 30 minutes of interval cardiovascular routines on the treadmills and 25-30 minutes of strength training using free weights and other equipment. The floor work focuses on a different major muscle group each day allowing clients to develop a targeted program, or to attend Monday through Friday for an ideal well-balanced workout routine . Instructors will vary the workouts from two 30 minute segments one day to four 15 minute segments another and even multiple short segments moving the class from treadmill to the floor every 5 minutes.” (from the Barry’s Bootcamp website).

Favorite things about the class:
- Their method of “shocking” you body is incredibly effective at improving weight lose and muscle tone
- It’s a party. The studio is dim and chic, small, but not crowded. The music is loud, but not excessive. No matter what time you go there is an infectious high energy.
- It’s competitive and engaging. The treadmills (with the exception of 2) are all along one wall with mirrors directly in front of you. Not only are you staring at your rapidly improving body, but your workout is fueled by the athletes next to you.
Least favorite things about the class:
- You have to get there early (10 minutes before class starts) if you want to start on the treadmill or be in the front/ middle on the floor.
- classes are expensive $32 each, but thats fairly standard.
Overall class rating: 5 0ut of 5 stars
Additional Comments: f you like having your butt kicked, this is the place. The instructors are excellent. Their ability to continually motivate and activate the group is unparalleled. While I have not taken classes by all of the instructors, I will highlight my two favorite instructors: Stephanie and Keoni.
Stephanie’s is an inspiration and her vivacity is contagious. Keoni interacts with the group, he calls people out, he pushes people. They are tough, but playful. You may hate them when your muscles feel like jelly, but you want to grab a drink with them afterwards.

I have heard about this! I would really like to do a class with treadmills. huge fan of the HIIT workouts. Brilliant. This looks like loads of fun:) Good a** kicking fun!
