Class: Barry’s Bootcamp
Class Location: Barry’s Bootcamp Studio NYC
Instructor: Keoni
Class Description: “All Barry’s Bootcamp classes are one hour, and each class includes 25 to 30 minutes of interval cardiovascular routines on the treadmills and 25-30 minutes of strength training using free weights and other equipment. The floor work focuses on a different major muscle group each day allowing clients to develop a targeted program, or to attend Monday through Friday for an ideal well-balanced workout routine (see below for weekly schedule). Instructors will vary the workouts from two 30 minute segments one day to four 15 minute segments another and even multiple short segments moving the class from treadmill to the floor every 5 minutes.” (from the Barry’s Bootcamp website).

Favorite things about the class:
- Forced me to run faster than I would like to.
- Over in an hour.
- Fairly good calorie burn (I burned about 450 calories).
Least favorite things about the class:
- Zero adjustments for form.
- Way too crowded.
- Music way too loud to have instructor shouting over it.
Overall class rating: 1 0ut of 5 stars
Additional Comments: Keoni seems like a lovely guy, but I hated the class (and I did 7 classes there to make sure I wasn’t just wimping out). Took 3 with Keoni, 3 with Natalie, 1 with Stephanie. Stephanie did a better job correcting form, but it was a small class. The classes with Keoni were completely full, so 1/2 of the class (about 20 people) were on the treadmills while the other half was on the floor. This makes the instructors verbal cues very difficult to follow. Also makes it virtually impossible for the instructor to make sure no one is going to hurt themselves.
