Soundtrack of My Workout: Prepping for Irene
2011 August 26
After watching Mayor Bloomberg’s hurricane update, Anderson Cooper 360, Pierce Morgan tonight and following the irene hash-tag on twitter, I’m officially caught up in the energy of this storm.
I may prep for marathons and races, but I’m not prepped for an emergency in the way I should be which is totally irresponsible. We’ve been gathering items and stalking the shelves of Duane Reade trying to find things like flashlights and battery operated radios.
Don’t be like me, always be prepared!

haha, i love it! but seriously, be careful this weekend!!
I’m from Miami so I should know better, but my and the finace are simply not prepared for this. I’m just hoping the power doesn’t go out for long, but if it does, we can always come to work. Work has tons of food, water, and showers, and I’m pretty sure they’ve got a generator.
Since we live in the city, work will totally expect the two of us to be here on Monday – we always get screwed because we live close to the office.
I’m not at all ready! I ran to the store this morning to get flashlight, batteries, duck tape and some food & water. But I still feel unprepared!
I have been to 4 hardware stores and they have “NO FLASHLIGHTS-NO BATTERIES” posted on their doors. Arrgh!! I am so not prepared for this either. It will be candles for us! Stay safe.
Candles for us too! We have a flashlight, but candles are more fun! Especially when accompanied by a bottle of prosecco!
Recently new reader here. And up here in Boston we are filling our bathtubs and stocking up on the booze. I mean what else do you do!? ha ha
The only thing your playlist needs is Scorpions “Rock You Like A Hurricane.”
Be safe as it heads your way! YIKES! I had friends stuck in the Bahamas while it hit there!
Hope you are safe and sound! XOXO
