Class Review: Zumba @ Park Slope Armory YMCA {instructor Daniella}
2011 August 29
Class: Zumba
Class Location: Park Slope Armory YMCA
Instructor: Daniella
Class Description: Set to current tracks and Latin-inspired beats, Zumba is like a cross between a nightclub dance floor and a traditional aerobics class. A real heart-pumper!
Reviewer: Clare
Favorite things about the class:
- Daniella does not speak very much throughout the class, but rather relies on clear, nonverbal cues to guide the movements.
- Unlike other Zumba classes, the music is a mix of Top 40 tracks and more traditional Latin-inspired songs. You feel like you are on an episode of So You Think You Can Dance!
- You. Will. Sweat. Without realizing it, I worked up a sweat that rivaled even my toughest treadmill workout.
Least favorite things about the class:
- The class tends to get crowded. Lots of regulars line up 30 minutes before class to get a ticket.
- I wish we did a longer stretch at the end. I usually have to spend an extra 5 minutes after class stretching.
- I wish there were more elements of toning.
Additional Comments: None.
