Physique 57 Challenge Results
The Challenge: Commit to doing Physique 57 workouts for 6 weeks.
The Reason: To remedy my case of Exercise ADD and build a stronger core
Number of Classes Taken in Six Weeks: 14
Number of Times Doing a Physique 57 Workout Video: 7
Total Physique 57 workouts for the 6 weeks: 21
Results:
- Lost 1 & 1/8 inch from hips
- Lost 1/2 inch from narrowest part of waist
- Lost 1 inch from widest part of waist
- Lost 1/2 inch from my thigh (widest part)
- Lost 1 inch from my chest
- Gained 1/4 inch in my arms
Thoughts: I loved doing this challenge! I especially loved using a tape measure in place of a scale to determine how the workouts were doing. I’m a little surprised that I ended up losing this many inches, since my cardio workouts were reduced during this time because of an injury.
The videos are a great supplement to going to classes and allow me to save a little money and time by not having to go to the studio to workout. I think I might add the arm & ab booster DVD to my collection.
Side Note: My physical therapist, a guy who has tried Physique 57, said that the exercises in this workout are some of the best and include the kind of things we all hate to do, but need to be doing.
Have you tried any similar type of challenges?

Wow, those are amazing results! My very first time doing physique, way back in 2007, I joined for a month and dropped a few inches. Not quite as much as you though! Congrats!
Wow, great job Jess!! I need to do a challenge like this….I’m bored with my workouts (ADD, like you said!).
I’m not at all surprised you lost so many inches even without cardio. For people that don’t need to lose a ton of weight, cardio doesn’t do very much for losing inches/pounds. Physique 57 and similar classes are exactly the type of workout that will produce results — both in inches AND in pounds.
I did a similar challenge last year with Core Fusion. I also didn’t do cardio during that time, and I also lost inches everywhere!
P.S. Congrats!!!!
Thanks!
Nicely done on the inches lost!! I totally agree with you – the tape measure is a way better tool for measuring results. Obviously, I share a similar experience to yours in that regard. Nice work, my dear!!
You all make me wish so much I had started tracking inches when I started doing Core Fusion regularly. Such amazing results – congratulations!
First off – congratulations! Your results have encouraged me to keep on going to Physique 57. I have been going for about 2 months now, and while I have not measured, I have DEFINITELY seen a difference in the way my pants/skirts fit plus I feel stronger. I have the 30 min express DVD but haven’t tried it yet, I think I am going to start including it too. Have you taken the Arm & Abs 30 min class in studio? its amazing! Physique definitely works wonders for the body, you have to commit to it, but what an amazing investment.
Wow great results!! Classes like these are the best. I am ready for a Core Fusion challenge right about now!
Wow, Jess! Amazing results! When I first started Physique I was perplexed as to why I wasn’t losing any weight. But once I realized how many inches fell off I was thrilled!
You know I’m a huge proponent of Physique 57!
I overheard an instructor at Physique say that she lost inches and not pounds when she started there also. That’s when I knew I couldn’t use the scale.
WOW! I am so happy for you! Now I am experiencing exercise ADD, myself. I always feel like I am missing out on whatever workout I am NOT doing. If I am running, I miss core fusion. If I’m fusing, I miss yoga, if I’m in yoga – well, I’m breathing so there is little to miss, but then I get to refine and I miss running again…etc. There needs to be more exerhours in the day.
I really want to try these DVD’s. I have two Bar Method DVD’s I plan on doing when I’m back home the week of my wedding. There’s no studio or barre classes in WI. I’m anxious to see how it differs from the studio class.
Congrats on your results! I’m curious as to what exercises your PT thought were the best ones for us to be doing. I do notice when I am doing barre workouts more regularly, I have less aches and pains during running.
I just bought Physique 57′s 30 Minute Advanced Express … and so far, I like it. I love the warm-up and ab sections, but struggle a little with the ballet-like leg exercises. I’m always wondering if I’m in the right position… is the motion right. I wish I had her in my living room to tweak my form
Great to hear about your results after 6 weeks of dedication to your workouts! It’s great that you combined our DVDs with classes each week to get all your workouts in. Keep up the great work and we’ll see you at the studio soon!
Best,
The Physique 57 Team
Thank you for the amazing workouts both in the studio and at home!
Great results – I don’t live anywhere near a gym and use the DVDs all the time! I love them and love to hear others that do!
