Soundtrack of My Workout: Over & Over Again
2011 April 6
Making play-lists for classes seems like an easy task, but it actually takes me at least an hour to put one together for a class. At one point in my teaching career, I had a class where the students would yell out and demand a song change if they didn’t like what was playing. Luckily, I don’t teach at that gym any longer. My students today are much friendlier.
While the songs on this list aren’t all new and can be found on previous soundtracks, this is my favorite list of the year. I keep playing it over and over again as I run around the city. I just hope it makes up for last Friday’s play-list disaster.

I’m always looking for good songs to add to the playlist so thank you!
I gotta say – anything from Pink or Britney always gets me pumped up. great playlist PS. I can’t believe your students would yell at you to change your song at your last gym. how rude!
At Physique I guess they commission remixes of all popular songs so they can have them in the studio and i get SO jealous of their workout tunes, because I can’t find their proprietary stuff anywhere. Tanya played this remix of Love the Way You Lie one time during Abs and I spent literally 3 days looking for it online only to learn they get some DJ to do it for them! If you can find a way to mooch their stuff, I’d love to know!
OMG, last week I stalked Tanya after class to try and find out what song she was playing. I’m dying to know where they get the music. LOVE IT!
wow how rude i cant believe students would yell out like that! how distracting for you and other members in the class..
For me this would be the most difficult part, putting together play lists. I have a taste in music that ranges from Tom Petty, to Paul Simon, to Madonna…it’s all over the place. And I’m really not hip to a lot of new music (if you can’t tell by my favorites…). People would probably be me off the stage! haha
What’s up with the “clean” version of In Da Club?
I teach class in a corporate gym and I’m suppose to keep the music “clean”. Although, I often fail to meet that requirement.
