Try This at Home

by Jess

I quickly become obsessed with new workouts.  Six years ago I went to a BOSU workshop and came home with a BOSU. I even convinced my future husband to keep it at his apartment since it wouldn’t fit in mine.

I think Physique 57 may become my next workout obsession.  I’m already planning a trip back to the studio.

Googling everything Physique 57 this morning while watching Regis and Kelly, I came across a great video from Fitness Magazine. It’s a 12 minute workout designed from Tanya Becker co-founder of Physique 57.

Here’s a clip of one of the signature moves from class: The V-Chair (try this and feel the burn!)

This move and the entire 12 minute workout from Fitness Magazine would be perfect to do while watching television.

I love things like this…stuff you can do at home that doesn’t take much time but is effective. Thanks for the 411, Jess!

That’s a great video that you found from a while back!

Looking forward to seeing you in class on Monday. You are going to love the Arm & Ab Booster class.

Awesome! I will definitely have to try out the chair video at home. After 19 classes I’m finally attempting Physique’s Intermediate level class this weekend…I’m terrified and excited all at the same time.

Now you’ve got me all interested in Physique 57…too bad there isn’t one here in Chicago!

I’m curious as to what makes this stand out above Bar Method and Core Fusion? Or is it one of those things you can’t define, you just have to try it for yourself?

Great question! It is hard to explain. Have you taken a Bar Method class before?

After I take another “barre” style class I going to see if I can’t put it into words how they are all different.

Yes – I actually spent 5 months at Bar Method last year before trying Core Fusion in September – and I haven’t looked back. While I definitely see the resemblences between the two, they are like night and day to me now! (That is actually how I found your blog – I was looking for reviews of the Bar Method and here you were!)

That’s too funny! I asked because I think bm and cf are also very diff from each other. Physique is different from each of those as well. It’s a different pace, similar yet different moves and a slightly different atmosphere. Come to NYC and will do the “barre” scene to try and pinpoint the exact differences. =)
