The One With the Mittens
At first there were sleeves with thumbholes.
And now there are sleeves that convert to mittens.
New Balance generously reached out and asked if I would review this shirt. Of course, my answer was yes (but naturally, I played it calm cool and collected)!
BTW: I don’t know how people take photos of themselves while running, I couldn’t even take a decent one standing in my apt.
The shirt is amazing. In fact I might be in love with it. Do you remember the tips I gave on how to find the perfect running top for Winter, Spring and Fall well that post needs to be edited to add, shirts with sleeves that convert to mittens.
Here’s what I love about this top:
- The Fit: It’s not snug, but not loose. The length of the shirt is slightly longer than my other long-sleeved ones and it doesn’t move around.
- The 1/2 Zip: Allows for ventilation when I over dress. Is easy to pull down with frozen fingers.
- The “mitten sleeves” (I don’t know what one really calls these sleeves): Fun and functional, Can add an extra layer over other gloves or a single layer for on days when I usually go without gloves, but find my self trying to cover my hands with my sleeves.
- The Uses: Can be worn alone, under a jacket, over a base layer
This shirt would be a great addition to any runner’s wardrobe.
P.S. This color in women’s is on sale and the men’s version (also on sale) has thumbholes and “mitten sleeves”.
