Soundtrack of My Workout 80′s Edition
2010 October 11
Thinking back through the years I not only remember completing my first 6 mile run, but I also remember how much I loved Halloween.
Third grade was an epic halloween. I dressed as Cyndi Lauper and my BFF went as Madonna.
The pop music of the eighties never fails to put a smile on my face and extra pep in my step. Seriously what’s better than a little Prince, Madonna and Cyndi Lauper on a super sunny fall day?
I dedicate this workout soundtrack to my 9-year-old self. (click playlist to enlarge)

You know, for some reason, this playlist really excites me.
I need to get the songs I am missing from the list—stat!
Jess, I love this playlist! Found myself bouncing around happily to eat song on the list – your taste in music (and kid halloween costumes) rocks! BTW, I saw Pat Benatar perform Battlefield this summer at a concert and it was just magical, even 25 years later.
AHH! Totally needed some new songs. Love this!
Bloody brilliant play list Freya – I may well just recreate that for my next run
I realised I typed in the wrong name – that will teach me to have multiple blog windows open – sorry!
No worries, it happens to us all!
Awesome playlist, maybe I need to dig into my 80s stash too.
I love it!! My favorite is “Video Killed The Radio Star”. I could sing that for days.
Third grade just so happened to be an epic Halloween for me too. I went as Edward Scissorhands! My mom helped me create the consume and it was fabulous.
This is my favorite playlist! It’s funny how I associate each song with a different moment of childhood…Thanks!
Love the 80′s. Love your list!
Absolutely fabulous playlist…brings back so many memories!
Awesome. I have been running to “Let’s go all the way” and “Relax”– maybe we are drinking out of the same water supply!
Haha, yes! Gotta love One Night in Bangkok!
GREAT LIST!! I totally dig 80′s music! Did I just say dig???
Love it! I need to add Eye of the Tiger & I need a Hero for my 5k playlist on 10/23. Can’t wait!
“You Should Be Dancing” is from the 70s, ’76 to be exact. Regardless of whatever remix it is, it’s a 70s tune.
Thanks for letting me know!
Great List. I love 80′s music. I have trouble remembering their names though.
