FCITC’s September Issue
It’s beginning to feel a little like fall in NYC. September issues are being read on trains, kids are back to school shopping and I dream of running tights and hooded jackets. Mother nature must have gotten a glimpse of a “september issue” herself this morning as it was 66 degrees at 7 a.m.
Today, starts a new series titled “FCITC’s September Issue” where I let you in on all of my favorite cool weather workout fashion must haves.
Today’s Topic: How to Stand Out in a Sweaty Crowd
A while back I was invited to preview Lucy’s fall collection.

Here’s what I love about Lucy:
Attention to Detail

Great Fit: Pants come in three lengths short, regular and tall.

No Stores in NYC: Which means 5 other ladies in your workout class or running group will not be wearing the same top.
Best way to stand out in a sweaty crowd of look alikes, is to shop at a store that is not in your neighborhood or state.

It was glorious out today! I was so mad it was rainy because I wanted to run outside so badly!
Oooh, I love some of the jackets on those mannequins!
I was just thinking about fall running clothes! I started c25k in the summer so its been a tank tops and pants down to my shins. What are the must haves I should get right away for Fall running.
Initially, you’ll just need long sleeve wicking tops. You can generally wear those with shorts at least through September and part of October. More info coming in later posts.
I love September. I think it’s my fav. month of the year…I just hope it cools down a bit soon. It is still super humid here in Korea…I am waiting for a break.
I’ve never gone into Lucy but will definitely have to check it out next time. I’ve been a religious lululemon shopper, but have been seeing a lot more runners in their gear.
Those clothes look soooooo cute!!! I may have to ask for a present!
I’ve never shopped at Lucy, but it looks like it has some fun stuff:) I stand out in my workout crowd, because in order to buy the workout clothes I like I HAVE to go out of town LOL. Oh, podunk Central Illinois
I am so excited that you shared your sneak peak into the new Lucy line up. I, too, love their clothes and there isn’t a store in my neck of the woods, either so I rarely run into the same outfits in my gym.
If they don’t have stores in NY, do you buy their stuff online?
Yes! I also stop in a Lucy store if I happen to be in a city that has the actual stores.
Fall is my favorite season for running so I can’t wait to pull out those long sleeve race shirts I’ve accumulated.
I’ve heard a bunch about this line, I’ll have to check it out. I can’t believe they don’t have any in NY.
I love the zipper on those tights!
I’ve never shopped at Lucy but they look like they have great quality clothes!
Ah, be still my beating heart. Love this collection.
Ohhh…I really like their stuff. How awesome they sell things in varying lengths. And I gotta say – the muscle definition on the mannequins rocks. You would never see that in a typical store.
I didn’t even notice! That’s awesome!
I can’t afford Lucy’s yet. Im still in 5 yr old free t shirts… but ONE DAY!
Fun series
looking forward to the pant post.
They have great sales! Super affordable when on sale, unlike some other brands or stores.
Perfect timing!! I signed up for a 10K in December and I have absolutely zero experience running in the winter. I am really nervous about cold-weather running (even though, logically, I know it’ll be just fine). Looking forward to the next installment as I definitely need to get pants and outerwear.
awesome colors! pink is by far my favorite!
Awesome, I really need to update for cold weather running. Thanks!
I’ve been to Lucy out in Cali, but also check out their stuff online from time to time. I like that it’s stylish.
I’ve never heard of LUCY; i wanna check it out. especially because they have short lengths; i’m 4’10″!
I love fall and I love the items in this storefront window! I’ve never heard of Lucy’s — will have to check out their site!
