Booty Slide with Rebecca Kordecki
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know that I am all about workouts that you don’t have to go to the gym to do. That being said you can imagine how excited I was when I was invited to try out Rebecca Kordecki’s Booty Slide class at Flywheel Sports.
Rebecca is a celebrity personal trainer who was named “Best Personal Trainer in the Hamptons for 2009″. I’m always eager to learn from the best in my business, so I couldn’t wait to check out her style.
Rebecca’s signature workout is Booty Slide®. According to her “It is a butt lifting, core strengthening and cardio blast all rolled into one – the best news is it requires nothing more than a pair of booties on your feet and can be done in 40 minutes!”
No doubt the class was a great workout! I used to teach gliding classes which are similar to booty slide and let me tell you if you haven’t done this type of workout before it will get your booty into shape in no time!
The most exciting part of this workout review for my NYC readers is that Rebecca is teaching at Flywheel and in the Hamptons this summer.
The most exciting part of this workout review for my non-NYC readers is that this reminds me of my kitchen towel workouts which you can do at home for free!

Is this like the old school “sliding classes” where you would put booties over your shoes?
That was a great workout!
Kind of like my beloved Val Slides…classroom style! Very cool!
Joanna–I was thinking of Valslides, too. Sounds so similar. And if that’s how Jennifer Garner gets lookin’ like she does, I believe it works.
Yes, a lot like Valslides!
wow i love that! it LOOKS like it would kick you butt and abs into shape.
Awesome! I love that you always share great moves you can do at home. I find it very difficult to make it to the gym with my schedule, so anything I can do at home is greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much for posting this – I’m intrigued and definitely want to try that workout! It looks really simple yet effective. And I also love anything that allows me to NOT go to the gym!
Love this…as I am totally in the camp that you do NOT need a gym to get a good workout!
I can definitely vouch for this workout. I have been doing it in the Hamptons. It is NOT like the gliding workout or the in-home towel or Valslides. What’s great about this workout is that the booties allow you to have more control of the traction. When I started, I had rarely worked out a day in my life… what you might call a “skinny” girl. But since Booty Slide, for the first time in my several attempts at water skiing, I can powerfully hold myself up and ski for lengthy periods of time. It is also like barefoot training. Oh! Did I mention I also entered the ING marathon? Very excited about it… especially at age 40!
Hi Marie – I’m happy to hear that you have found a workout that has worked well for you. Super exciting to hear that you will be running this year’s NYC Marathon it is truly an amazing thing to experience!
As a fitness professional with a M.S. in Exercise Science I strongly believe that all four of these workouts are equally effective if done consistently and correctly. These other workouts are also a great option for those of us who can’t get out to the Hamptons.
Hi Jess, thanks for your response. Although I have been doing the workout in the Hamptons, I mentioned it because it was there first as I have had the opportunity to do it there before it was at FlyWheel in NYC. Now that’s its at FlyWheel, I will definitely be there too!
Your background sounds amazing!! My uncle is in fact an orthopedic surgeon and my brother a chiropractor of 20 years. Both think there is a significance to Booty Slide because of the foot to floor contact and control aspect. Hence why I chose it over the others.
However, I am sure they are ALL really great workouts… like you said.
Love your blog and feel honored to have had your response. Thank you! Btw, I am going to make some Almond butter as per your suggestion
It looks delicious.
This looks like a lot fun!
I love it! This looks like this skating thing I used to have to use in hockey practices!
thanks for the review! looks like a pretty good workout
I was wondering if this workout is adaptable to do on carpet?
You could, but you would have to use paper plates or frisbees.
