Go Hard or Go Home
I can’t get this phrase out of my head, thanks to Rihanna & Jeezy. I have no idea why, so I’m rolling with it.
As you know I’ve never been one to have a mantra. When I purchased my Road ID, there’s an option to include a quote or mantra along with your emergency contact information.

Mine says “Life is not a rehearsal“. I really couldn’t think of anything else at the time. Now, I wish I could scratch it out.
There’s nothing wrong with the quote it just doesn’t resonate. I wish it said “Go Hard or Go Home“.
As an instructor and trainer I often struggle to use motivating words. I wonder how many times in the past ten years I’ve said “good job”, “stay strong”, and “you can do this”.
Based on those inspirational words, I’m surprised NBC isn’t knocking at my door asking me to be the next Jillian Michaels.
Are there any specific words or phrases that motivate you?

Hard is my power song on my Nike Plus!!!
I use “dig deep” when I’m running sometimes….I chant it.

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” It’s all about mindset and knowing you are capable. That motivates me to never say “I can’t”
Whenever Im having a tough workout, I keep repeating to myself
“The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result”
It reminds me that I gained a bunch of weight for a reason and if I stick with my old ways and quit, things will never change.
I love go hard or go home – also love the quote Hilary posted – my hubby and I live by that one!
I love the “go hard or go home” saying. It really feels strong and brave to me. But I agree with Hilary, lately I’m really into “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” That speaks volumes to me and really influences the way I think about my challenges.
I don’t have a mantra–hm, maybe that would help me work harder at the gym. But I like Hilary’s. That’s great, and so true.
No mantra either… although Go Hard or Go Home is a good one! I guess the one thing I do think during marathons is…. steady as she goes…. just makes me think about keeping a steady consistent pace/effort and to stay strong for the long haul. Kinda odd, but hey it seems to help. LOL
No matter what your Road ID says, I have to say, it’s really cute! You picked a good color! I’m not sure what my mantra is these days….it seems to change from time to time depending on how much tough-love I need. Right now I think it’s NO EXCUSES!
“Just one more minute.”
I always say to myself, “finish strong, you can do it” – for some reason use the word “strong” encourages me a lot!! Did you watch last weeks Biggest Loser?!?! Craziness!
I have the same road id! Mine says, “keep moving forward.” i know not too exciting
Mine says “Run Like The Wind” only because “..Bullseye” wouldn’t fit at the end. It’s a still quote from Toy Story, but it has always stuck with me and made me smile. You have to imagine it in Tom Hanks’ voice, aka Woody.
I meant a “silly quote” not still. can’t type. must get away from the computer. now.
My phrase would be “Go with it.” from The Girl Next Door movie, not sure why, but I love it.
I love go hard or go home!! Haha my RoadID says “I love you, Mom”….what can I say, it was a gift
Not really a mantra, but sweet none the less.
I don’t think I have a literal mantra. But whenever it gets tough I take a “this is all you got” attitude. One life to live and I better be healthy and happy. I know that even painful exercising is putting me there.
Hm.. Nike’s “Just Do It.” has always resonated with me, but I change my mind and preferences allll the time. I like “Go big or go home”, that’s a good one. Basically anything that symbolizes hard core keeps me motivated.
My mantra is “Life is too short to be a spectator”
I like them both, but you’re right, the second one fits you better! Go Hard or Go Home, yep, definitely a PT mantra. My mantra is “Life is tough, deal with it”. I have thought about this more and more as I start to complain about stupid petty things. So many people are in much worse situations and I have no reason to complain. And I won’t!
