Every “Body” Needs A Tune-Up
Every spring cyclists flock to their local bike shop for a spring tune-up. Lucky girl that I am my Husband happens to possess some mad bike wrenching skills. Give the man a thousand bike parts and he’ll build a bike in a day.
Unlucky girl that I am he trains a few cyclists that rely on him to tune-up their bikes. This means a teeny apartment full of road bikes and all the dirt, grease and grime that go with them.

Today, I got a little tune-up of my own. I was invited to attend a media event with Jill Miller, the creator of Yoga Tune-Up at Equinox.

I’ve used her therapy balls non-stop for the past few months and I’ve just started using this video after my long runs…

and today I became a devotee.
For the first half of the class Jill led us through a series of tension relieving poses utilizing the Yoga Tune-Up Therapy Balls. The therapy balls provide tripper point relief. This was painfully amazing. The second half of the class focused on opening up the hips. When I left the class my legs felt light and free.
After all these weeks of raving to everyone I know about how they can benefit from a Yoga Tune Up, it was incredible to experience a live class with Jill.
I can’t wait for the Yoga Tune Up At Home Program to become available. This is a customized workout program that is delivered to your doorstep each month on DVD. Each month build on the previous month. It also includes live support for when your having trouble with a particular pose or have a question. This sounds like it might just be the perfect solution to my yoga class woes.
Have you had your spring tune-up?

I’ve been thinking that I need to up my stretching routine and this sounds ahhhh-mazing!
That tune-up program sounds pretty cool. I like that each month builds on the last. And I like that you get a new DVD. Maybe I just like to get something in the mail other than bills!
How fabulous that you got to hang with Jill Miller from Yoga Tune Up! My invitation must have gotten lost in the email. HA! ;0)
I could use a good spring tune up. A massage or a visit to the chiropractor could do my body a world of good!
I have never heard of Jill Miller, but I’ not really into yoga yet. I have been trying, very hard, but it’s hard to find time when I am so used to so much movement and energy in my workouts!! Not a good excuse, I know. I want to start taking classes, but that costs money. This new house is making us house poor for a while, but then I WILL get into yoga classes!!
Pretty cool about your hubby and his bike fixing skills (not the bike fixing equipment in the apartment though..). My grandpa used to fix and sell bikes in his back yard!
That DVD looks great! I am working on my spring tune up since the beginning of april..ne results yet, but I know my hard work will pay off..great post…happy spring!
