Taking Advice

2010 March 8
by Jess

Before I forget yet again, the winner of the Core Fusion DVD is Heather of Side of Sneakers. Heather, please send me your mailing address so that I can send you your DVD.

The correct answer to the Pop Quiz is psoas, piriformis, and hamstrings.

Speaking of those three glorious body parts, my husband advised that I postpone my 8-miler until tomorrow morning. I’m really glad I took his advice. I went for a walk instead. During my walk I could tell that I needed to wait to run until tomorrow.

It was really hard not to stick to my training schedule, but one of the most important plans about a training schedule is the ability to be flexible. I can’t wait to run in the morning.

Here are the next two races on my calender for the spring:

April 3: Scotland Run 10K

April 25th, More 1/2 Marathon

As a lead in for tomorrow’s post: If you could have any career in the world without having to go back to school what would you choose?

My answer in tomorrow’s post.

Any career in the world? Honestly, I would be a country music star. I would love to perform all those twangy, story-tellin’ tunes …. but I can’t sing.

I’ll be watching for your race recaps … those are my favorite posts!

Check out this article about “easy” and “hard” training days:

    http://www.trainingbible.com/joesblog/2010/02/easy-means-easy.html

It says: “If one makes the easy days easy, the hard days can be hard. And race fitness improves. If, on the other hand, easy becomes moderate then hard also becomes moderate. And there is little progress.”

I like the girl who answered country singer!!!! That is actually an awesome one.
I am starting to live a dream I didn’t even know I had…being a personal trainer. I’m lucky that I was “forced” to make a change and ended up doing something I can truly say I love doing!!!

I actually really love my job but I wish it was ENTIRELY working from home. I would also like to do more writing from home and one day write a book!

Also, would LOVE to work PR for a big marathon :)

I’d love to be a part time teacher/part time writer, so I could do both. It would be nice to work from home some of the time, but also get out and be social/help kids :) Can’t wait to hear your answer!

Good for you for being “flexible”. As I’ve found out, being flexible is important in all areas of life. I used to be so rigid with my schedules, of all types, but now being more flexible helps me relax much easier.

I would own a restaurant, FOR SURE! Or just a catering company. That would be a blast. OR an ice cream shop…

  16. March 9, 2010

Either a personal trainer or a restaurant owner! I love food & fitness! I really HATE sitting at a desk all day…… definitely need a change SOON.
