Balls to the Floor (or something like that)

Besides knowing what other muscles to stretch to keep your back happy, the Yoga Tune Up balls do a fantastic job of relaxing tight muscles.

A few weeks ago I won these from the lovely and talented Joanna of Fitness & Spice. Being as I always have some sort of “almost injured” body part I couldn’t think of a better product to try out.

The instructional audio CD wasn’t quite as helpful as the placement guide. I feel like I have a better than average knowledge regarding anatomy and some times I wasn’t sure where to place the balls. I also had to chase the balls a couple of times as they rolled out of place.

However, after the 20-25 minutes of going through all the positions my back felt amazing! I really can’t wait to try out the video that Jill from Yoga Tune Up was kind enough to send me. I think these may be the thing that will help me prevent plantar faciitis.

Thank you Joanna & Jill you ladies ROCK!

Do you have any “almost injured” body parts? What are you doing to prevent a full-blown injury?

*Also don’t forget to take the Pop Quiz! There’s only one correct answer so far.

I could have used those a few months ago… ugh. I DO have plantars fasciitis and finally went to PT tonight after getting no where with the podiatrist…. well except for some heel inserts and a sexy boot to wear to bed. I found out I also have a tight Achilles and calf, as well as some issues with my pelvis…. fabulous. But at least I know!

Those sound really cool. I wish I had an almost injury. Nope, I have the full blown thing–Runner’s knee in both knee for years and years. So fun.

I did/do have Achilles tendonitis, and though it doesn’t hurt any more I’m doing everything I can to prevent that coming back. Two bad knees is bad enough. I need the rest of me working!

Those are pretty cool! I tend to injure myself when I let myself get super tight especially my hamstrings-then my back goes and it is not good.

I’m so glad you like them! I think they are great little solution for getting to those hard to reach areas in your shoulders and back.

You may be able to use tennis balls, but these are quite a bit smaller and softer.

I suffer from plantar fasciitis. Right now it’s doing pretty good…..I’m stretching, icing, etc. But I’m always waiting for it to get full blown again.

No almost injuries currently, the last was a sprained ankle after a 5K race. Looks like a great product, thanks.

I have something under my shoulder blade that wraps around the front to my chest on my left side that hurts sometimes. Sometimes the chest hurts, sometimes the scapula, sometimes all of it. Some movement aggravates it, some doesn’t. Clear as mud what is going on!!!

I have wicked bad tendonitis in my left ankle, even stepping off the curb sometimes makes my ankle hurt! It’s ridiculous. I just learned today that I should be doing stabilizing exercises to try and get stronger.
