Thanks for sharing what exercise challenges you the most!

Here’s my “before video” of my Pilates roll-up.  Just so you know, its sadly an honest attempt at doing the exercise.

Now that you’ve told me what exercise challenges you the most, do you have a game plan for improvement?

In case you missed it here’s my game plan for improving my roll-up.

Love the video! You can do it Jess! I think I can, I think I can, I think I can! Can’t wait to see your next video. :)

You’re so funny! I love the wiggling legs. You can do it!!

  3. February 23, 2010

Ha! Love it! I’m sure you will improve in no time.

I’ll definitely be working on my attempt to do a body weight pull up… no rubber band helping me! Just need to keep practicing and slowly going down in the “help” I’m getting from the rubber band.

    You are darling!

I am going to improve my pull ups by doing other moves like pushups, pulldowns, deadlifts, etc. I’ll get em! ;-)

How great you are to post that video! Love it…….As you know from my blog I am working on running faster! Crow pose will have to wait.
    Have a good day…..

Thanks for sharing with us! Sometimes I feel like everyone but me in the world can do certain exercises. That move is really hard — not that many people can do it well, so you’re on the right track.

I need to work on my pull-ups. My arms are so weak! I plan on doing arm workouts at least once a week from now on.

Oh I just love your video! You are so great! I can’t do a real pushup as sad as that sounds. Nor can I do a pull up. It’s actually surprising I can do anything. I’m so weak!! I’m working on it though. More yoga and strength training at least three days a week

haha you look like me. I don’t know what it is about the roll up I just can’t do it. What I started doing was easing my way into it. I start with my legs flat and sitting up, then I lower my back a little, and lift up returning to start. Then I go down a little further the next time, and back up, etc. etc. I find that this helps me understand what muscles exactly I’m supposed to be using. I know the muscles are there! For some reason with the roll up they just don’t want to work. Try it, see what happens!

Love the video! Sounds like you have a good plan and I am sure you will get there. Sadly, I cannot touch my toes! I have been working on this for months and I am getting closer and closer.

O.M.G Funniest thing I’ve seen in a while but I think it was funny because of the dramatic music!!

I need to lose weight in order to do a better pull up/chin up. The less of me to pull up the easier!! And of course improve upper body strength.

Too cute! I love the video!

My plan of attack is simple…do it, and do it more often! Just doing it would be a start :)

    Awe… what a cute video :)

Since I don’t do pilates much, I don’t have much of a game plan. I think I’m gonna stick with what I know ;)

My exercise challenge is running, and here’s my game-plan: Reach 3 miles! I’ve been doing it VERY slow and steadily because what scared me away from running in the past is that I went at it too fast and felt pressured, so I gave up. I reached 2 miles about a week ago, but haven’t ran since :/ It’s just really hard/boring on the treadmill, so I think I’m going to aim for the 3 miles when it gets warm outside. Until then I’m just going to keep doing some sort of running, even if it’s in intervals.

The other part of my game-plan is that if I reach 3 miles and still don’t like running, I’m not going to do it! I want exercise to be something I LOVE, not something that stresses me out.

My game plan for improving is to stick to the gym until I feel fit enough to start working on my running goals/cardio goals. I think right now, it’s a head game..so even working out at all is a good step. Eventually..I’ll be able to run outside and run Central Park..or laps around Union Square! lol
