Leaping Lizards!

2010 February 9
by Jess

I’ve lived in NYC for nearly 10 years and in all my time here I’ve never heard such a commotion about a winter storm as I have today. Reminds me of home.  Nashville always freaked out if there was the teeniest bit of snow in the forecast.

You’re aware of my crazy factor , so I really hope all this talk doesn’t jinx us from getting snow.

Just in case you haven’t heard, President Obama and the First Lady have established a task force on childhood obesity.  The campaign is called “Let’s Move!”.

I’m excited to see how this transpires.  I wonder if the President and First Lady will ask me to join their task force?

I’m totally digging Michelle’s campaign. And, yes…YOU should join her mission. If you need a letter of recommendation, let me know! ;0)

I love what she is doing! I also love that she has an amazing garden at the White House.

Wouldn’t that be COOL if she DID ask you to join?! haha, what an experience! I’ve read a lot about her ideas and why she is doing this, and I think it’s about gosh darn time someone in the White House took such an initiative!! Good for her. I hope she is successful and really makes a differences in people’s lives (I think she will be, she’s got many people behind her and on her side, obviously).

Have a great day Jess! Enjoy the snow :) There is lots of commotion here in Ohio too, it’s crazy.

In ’99 there was a huge snowstorm and Toronto declared a state of emergency. They called in the national guard to clear the snow and the city basically became the laughing stock of the rest of Canada.
They haven’t done that since, although I don’t think there has been a snowstorm quite so big since then. (50cm in 3 days)

We’re going crazy down in the DC area, too. We got 26 inches last weekend, and now we’re in another blizzard so strong I can’t see the street from my window! It’s the strangest thing I’ve seen since moving down here. And, yes, DC is in panic mode.

I totally don’t understand why NY is going so crazy over this. It’s just a little bit of snow!
