Strategies

2009 December 8

This is the perfect time of year for a mini workout. Our schedules are jam packed with holiday shopping and holiday parties. As someone who lives in the gym, I see the same predictable patterns year after year. People naturally put fitness and their healthy lifestyle on the back burner when life gets busy.

I’m here to remind you that you don’t need a lot of time to get in a quick workout. Mini workouts can help you stay in shape over the holidays without interfering with your social life and family obligations. People feel like they need an hour or more to workout, but remember something is better than nothing.

On Friday, Mari tried out my latest mini workout “Mini Holiday Meltdown” In 15 minutes she burned close to 145 calories!!! Seriously, jump on the mini workout bandwagon and don’t wait until January 1st to restart your fitness routine.

Thanks for this post, because I was just sitting here thinking I didn’t have time for a workout. I just don’t have time for the 60 minute, 400 calorie burning I had in mind. But I do have time for something!
And that needs to be my attitude this time of year…no excuses to not fit in 30 minutes…that is easy!

Joanna, I am with you 100%… but I kinda think we’re the exception, not the rule.

Nice! I couldn’t agree more! With all the stress and overeating this is really when we need to workout the most :) It’s so worth prioritizing some gym time, even if it can’t be as long.

Great tips!! I actually just try to incorporate exercise into my daily activities… walking to the store, bank, post office etc. I avoid my car if i can!!!

I like a mini workout, they go along way. I like to do 15 in morning, lunch time and 45 minutes after work!

I am totally going to try your mini workouts over the holidays when I’m in Boston since it will be too cold to run outside!
