Sneaking in Exercise

Hi! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! Today, I woke up bright and early to meet my running partner for an 4 miler in the park. It was a great run! The park was cold and quiet, just how I like it. After I showered and ate breakfast the Husband and I walked downtown to Chelsea Market. I can’t believe I’ve never been. You probably know that it’s the home of the Food Network, although sadly that isn’t open to the public.

If you haven’t visited the Chelsea Market you should the next time your in NYC. I figure we’re the last two NY’ers to visit this oasis. I took tons of photos with my new camera. The Husband was thrilled to see all the meat products.

He also managed to find the largest jar of nutella ever!

I on the other hand may have found a new job. ;)

New York LOVES Obama!

When the Husband finally dragged me kicking and screaming out of Chelsea Market, I convinced him to walk down to the High Line. It runs from Gansevoort Street to 20th Street.

We snuck in over three miles of walking! For the day I completed 7 miles and only ran four. Sneaking in exercise is totally the best way to stay fit!

How do you sneak in exercise?

I bought those exact insoles you mentioned the last post. And by god, they actually help!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!

I got them from a podiatrist’s office here in Phx and although I bought my shoe size, they are about 1/4 to 1/8 inch too short. Good in the sense that I could fit them in my shoes, next size up woulda been too big, but anyway, my big toes sort of hang off the end of the insert into no man’s land inside my running shoes and it’s a bit annoying b/c I am curling my toes to compensate but also it’s only been 36 hrs and my feet are adjusting. But the arch support is totally helping my plantar fasc. At this rate, I may not even need to see the podi. Well, I still should but in the meantime, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Averie, I am so happy to hear that those insoles are helping you out!!! I hope you don’t get a blister from them being a bit short. Luckily I didn’t have that problem. And YES you should still see the podi when you get a chance.

I really want to visit that place. Are you really going to take that job? Or at least apply? Man, what a dream! Those bakery items looked fantastic.

I love the giant Nutella. I’ve never had it, I know….I’m crazy.

Nick and I sneak in exercise with walks to the mailbox, instead of driving, and walks to the grocery store!

What a beautiful day to get out and enjoy the city. I could never work in that cupcake place….Oh, the temptation! But I will gladly buy a couple!

Sending me to work at a cupcake store would be like sending an alcoholic to work at a bar – its cruel punishment, and should never, ever happen!! Those cupcakes all look awesome.

Sneaking in exercise? I like to get off the bus a couple stops early and walk the rest of the way. It’s not much, but every little bit counts.

Holy jar of nutella! I sneak in exercise by taking the stairs every day at work!

Ok, if you get the job at the cupcake shop will you hire me, PLEASE!

I sneak in extra bursts of exercise into my day…I have a chin up bar in one of my doorways so I do random chin ups during the day, I park in the parking spots furthest from my destination (sometimes!), I do calf raises when waiting for something to be done in the microwave. Little things make a difference, don’t they?

That Nutella jar is killing me! So funny!

I like to sneak in exercise through housework/laundry. I run up and down the stairs, stretch, reach, lunge, dust, squat, carry the vacuum and laundry basket all over. I really should wear my heart rate monitor during my cleaning sessions one day because I think I am burning some major cals!!

Ok first, I adore Chelsea Market!! It always puts me in a good mood!

Second, this morning in D.C. I went running errands on foot, and chatted with my best friend the whole time on the phone. I ended up walking for more than an hour! I think being on the phone really helps me pass the time.
