Things That make You Go Hmm

2009 October 28

I hope you’re having a great Hump Day!  I had trouble sleeping again last night.  I couldn’t think of anything to do so I browsed through craigslist.

What do you think the ad below?  (click on image to enlarge)

Hmm… seems slightly odd to me.  I feel bad that they don’t have a friend or family member that will be waiting for them at the finish line.

And now for the moment you’ve been waiting for:

The answer to yesterday’s Tuesday Trivia question is:

26 LBS!

You’d have to burn 91,000 calories to burn off 26 lbs of fat.  Hmm… how’s that for motivation?

Even though 26 lbs is a lot, I’m kind of relieved it wasn’t 100 or something!
I wonder if anyone is going to respons to the Craigstlist post??

You were the Wellness Coordinator?? That’s great! Do you have any advice for me, as I venture into corporate wellness? We launch our company tomorrow, and I’m super excited!

I would delete an e-mail like that in TWO seconds. I have to say, I delete e-mails fast, they never get me!

That’s a whole lot of calories, but at the same time, that’s a whole lot of pounds! It just goes to show you it takes work to loose weight. Bottom Line.

I like to see the good people and hope that this person is legit and truly just wants someone there when they hit the “wall” but I find it strange that they want this person (female) to help them walk 20 blocks back home…if you can pay 80 bucks for someone to run with you, why can’t you fork over another 15 and take a cab? Lol

Right? I hate to say it, but I’m a little suspect.

That craigs list ad is so ridiculous. If it’s a male asking specifically for a female runner, I’m definitely skeptical.

That ad does sound odd. My first reaction was to feel sad that this person had no one to help her out. But them I thought, what if it’s not a “her”, what if it’s a “him” wanting a “her” to walk him home…. Scary thought!

Shannon – I assumed it was a “he” and my husband said it sounded like it was a “she”. I guess we’ll never know. ;)

Oh sweet Craig’s List!!! I get caught up in reading through the look into humanity on that site often as well. I go on there innocently to look through job postings or to sell something and end up sucked in. There is something for everyone out there!!!!

I’ve been having trouble sleeping too, so has my husband, I wonder if it has something to do with this time of year.

Robin, I think you may be right. My husband is also having trouble sleeping.

My guess was 25 lbs! I can’t believe I was so close!

OK call me nutty but I would totally run 10.2 miles and carry gels and say “you can do it!” with someone for $80. Maybe nutty isn’t the right word? “Poor” might be better.
