Vacation Workout
The weekend was crazy! I’ve missed you all. I apologize for being a little MIA, but I’ll be making it up to you this week with lots of blogging from the west coast.
I don’t usually workout while on vacation (GASP!). I start out with good intentions but then only end up working out once or twice. Well, this vacation is a little different. I really want to commit to working out since I’ll be consuming copious amounts of food and wine. That inspired me to create a Vacation Workout Commitment Challenge (VWCC) that you too can commit to the next time your on vacation. The best part about the challenge is that you don’t need a gym (although there is one where I’m staying). Each day along with photos from my adventures in Napa Valley, I’ll also be sharing my workouts with you.
VWCC
- Complete 3 Mini strength training workouts (20-30 minutes)
- Complete 2 Mini yoga sessions (20 minutes)
- Complete 5 Cardio Sessions (30 minute minimum)
Start Date: Monday October 12th
End Date: Saturday October 18th
It looks like a lot, but its really just 50 minutes each day. I anticipate that some days I’ll split it up into two short workout sessions.
Upon first glance the fitness center looks great.

What are your workout habits while on vacation?
Remember that tomorrow’s edition of Tuesday Trivia will be a POWER edition featuring three questions and a PRIZE!
Wish me luck on completing the VWCC!

Chemicals?!?!?!?! Whats going on?
Good luck! Enjoy your vacay!
Woah What is going on with that gym!? I think you should stay away…far far far away.
Have a fabulous vacay and find ways to workout without having to go in that Chemical Gym lol
Wow that is a great plan!! I am so impressed with your motivation, but obvisouyl you are a motivated person, especially when it comes to exercise! I am actually going out of town next week and I Wasn’t planning on exercsing more than one out of the four days I’ll be gone. I have been working out extra the past two weeks to make up for it!
HAve a blast!
I haven’t been on a ton of vacations, but I didn’t workout at all on my honeymoon. Terrible choice and I regretted it when I came home. But it was a great honeymoon so I didn’t beat myself up about it.
I think it’s important to do something, even if it is only walking.
Oooh- can’t wait to hear how it goes…
I’m leaving late this week on vacation so you may be inspiring me. I usually just make sure to get in nice long walks on vacation and forget my strength training.
Have a fabulous week!
That sign is a head scratcher!
I used to travel a ton for work so not working out was not an option. Some times I’d get lucky and have a decent gym where I could get in a normal workout. When the gym was not worth going to or if it required a per usage fee, I’d make up hotel room workouts. I’d grab suitcases for weights (loading them w/ phone books & bibles), do push-ups off the bed, step ups on the sofa or coffee table, dips off ottomans, planks, burpees…you name it!
Uhhh… that sign is a bit odd in a gym!?
Sounds like you’ve got a great plan ahead for your vacation. I’m of the opposite belief – my vacation means minimal exercise!
But yeah, if lots of eats and delicious drinks are in your future, then I think your plan makes absolute sense. I hope it’s a great time!
I do a lot of walking on vacation and count that as exercise.
That sign is scary!
