Saturday in the Park
Marathon Fever, if you can’t smell it you sure can feel it. I absolutely love this time of year! I even made the Husband walk to the Jacob Javits Center and explore the crowded New York City Marathon expo.

A closer look reveals the juggling runner.

I can’t believe its been 6 years since I ran this race. I can still remember the excitement I felt the day I found out that I had won an entry through the lottery system on my first try. If you’ve your a marathoner or your on the fence about becoming one, this race is a must do! Its everything they say it is and more. Every weekend (and every glass of wine) you sacrifice is worth the experience on race day. It really is a race like no other!
The lottery application for the 2010 NYC Marathon opens November 2nd at noon EST.
I’m going to attempt to video the professional runners and a portion of the race, so that you too can feel marathon fever even if you aren’t in NYC on race day.

Wow, I bet that was an amazing experience!! Good for you, I could never do it. I’m ok with that though, I’m just not the running type.
Have a good one!
It’s been one of my life goals since I was 12 to run the NYC marathon… hopefully someday!
how exciting! are you running it?
I’d love to run the NYC marathon someday. How completely amazing would that be, seriously. I hope the race goes well and you guys enjoy being there.
No, I’m not running it.
I would LOVE to run a marathon…any marathon…one day! Love the pictures
I didn’t realize that you had to “qualify” just to be part of the lottery! I totally would have put my name in and used it as an excuse to take a vacation next fall. Drat. I need to shave 10 minutes off my half marathon time. The times are even more strict than they are for a BQ for me!
NYC Marathon is something I would love to do before I die…it is def on my bucket list lol
Awesome! I just say the pictures from the Marine Corps marathon and I could feel the energy from the runners and the fans.
I’m sure the NY Marathon was amazing to run and observe.
The Marathon is definitely on my to-do list for (hopefully) 2011. My dad was an avid marathon runner and having that in common would just be so heartwarming to me.
I went out the park as well for a nice 5 mile run on Saturday. It was fun to run through the set-up and finish line and imagine what it actually must feel like to accomplish such an incredible goal. Thanks for posting the entrance tips!
I can’t believe he was juggling!!
