I like running in the snow too!! You kind of feel like a total bad ass runner for being out there in all kinds of weather conditions. I am definitely a cold weather vs. warm weather runner. I get too hotttt in the heat. My best 5K time was in December!

Robin - I know, I'm a cold weather weenie. I once ran a marathon in long sleeves and the temp. was 60 degrees. I think I was one of two people wearing long sleeves out of 30,000 runners.

Katherine- My secret is this... In NYC the snow only stays on the street for like a millisecond before its plowed away. ;) Then central park is a winter wonderland that also happens to have a plowed drive. My absolute favorite time to run is when it snows during the night and I run at 5 am before they've had a chance to plow.

Mari - I guess I feel like if its gonna be cold, it should be snowing. I also don't have a car, so I'm sure that's one reason I prefer the snow.

Wow, 60 degrees?? I was way off!! I prefer running in cold weather, rather than hot. In Columbus the humidity can really ruin a good run. It's awful. In the winter I can at least bundle up and start taking things off as I run (wrap my fleece around my waist, etc).

how in the world do you run in the snow?

if there's a light layer of snow i usually end up sliding when running.

if there's lots of snow and ice has developed i slip anyway.

even when it just plain snows and doesn't freeze over, i still slip.

maybe our snow is just really wet since i'm by the ocean?

please, tell me your secret.

I meant to guess and I forgot, my guess was 60. I grew up in Massachusetts so 60 is nothing.

I'm a princess... I like my weather somewhere in the middle with a little bit of wind (preferably working with me, not against me!).
