Goodbye to You

2009 September 3
by Jess

I hope you laughed during your workout today!  It was a much needed rest day for me.  I’ll be smiling tomorrow during my workout ’cause I’ll be accompanied by a bootylicious play-list.

I grew up in Nashville where Memorial Day and Labor Day were just random holidays.  Here in NYC those days are spot on for signaling the beginning and end of summer.  Which makes me both sad and excited. So, I’m saying goodbye to this:

HPIM1198

The end of summer signifies the beginning of a busy season at the gym.  Right now I’m enjoying the stillness by preparing for the storm.  In the next two weeks I’ll begin teaching three additional group classes, two bridal boot camps and  a Biggest Loser style “Last Chance Workout” on Friday nights.   I’m secretly, most excited about getting to yell and scream at people a’la Jillian Michaels. Totally not my style, but it will be SO MUCH FUN!

BTW, our play-list from earlier in the week was a huge hit!  Class was packed and bodies were rockin’.  Maybe we can try again next week? ;)

I’m off to add the Veronicas’ version of “Goodbye to You” to my running play-list.  Otherwise, I’ll be dreading tomorrow’s 1 mile repeats.

What’s your workout plan for Friday?

I grew up in the midwest where Mem/Labor Days definitely were summer start/end holidays. With little exception, it was snowing or getting ready to! outside of those 3 mos in MN. I hated the feeling of Labor Day as it meant 9 mos of downhill weather til Mem Day rolled around!

Friday workout? I accidentally did about 7 miles in 110 degree heat tonite. Not paying attention to my turns and path while in Phoenix. Yeah, fun. So tomorrow, light yoga and maybe 2 miles outside, that’s nuff :)

Thx for stopping by my blog lately, sorry I havent always personally replied to all my comments but thx for sayin hi :)

Oh. My. God. I want to come for a last chance work out!! That would be awesome!

My Friday work out plans include a bike ride that I’m heading out for shortly. Just waiting for the sleepy sun to get up! ;)

I’ve always thought it would be fun to be a Jillian Michaels for the day…haha. :D

My Friday workout is a planned 5-7 mile run depending on how I’m feeling. I have a favorite route that allows me to go short or long, which is super nice. :D And it looks like a clear, sunny day, so I’m completely stoked to head out in my sneaks right after posting this. :D

Hi there! I just found your blog and read back quite a ways! What a lot of great information you have to share.

I grew up on Cape Cod, so Labor Day was a huge goodbye to summer…and to the crowds. I love September on the Cape because it’s still warm, but the crowds are gone. My husband and I will be fighting traffic to the Cape tonight.

I have a short run planned today and hopefully a long one along the ocean this weekend!

I used to work at a local gym and I remember this time of year as being super busy. In a way it was good, because I was never bored!
My workout plan for today is..no workout!! Today is a day off for me. I am taking off today and tomorrow, then Sunday will be my fifth workout of the week, and I plan on using the elliptical and working on my abs!

thanks for stopping by my blog :) dog-sitting is def fun- and good money (could you imagine the money you could make doing it in NYC!! lol)…i grew up on long island and mem day/labor day was a huge deal! clam bakes, parades, etc etc now i live in florida and all people do is go out on their boats and get drunk (not my idea of a good time). so i plan on having a relaxing weekend to myself. and def going to be hitting up the gym!

Aw such a beautiful picture, I miss NY!
Unfortunately I won’t be able to work out today, even though I’d love to get a quick one in! I’ll be working 10 hours, driving home and then getting in a car to drive to Arizona! I don’t know how I’m going to managae sitting all that time…I need to come up with some car exercises or something! lol

I already did 35 minutes of Jillian’s Boost Your Metabolism DVD and burned 381 Calories and plan on going for a walk later with my sister while my niece rides her bike…it’s a great day for a walk =)

I have no workout plan but I want one. I’m so tired already I’m afraid I won’t make it very far after work. I would LIKE to either go for another bike ride, go for a brisk walk or go to the gym. I doubt I’ll get to the gym as I didn’t bring a bag and would have to go home first. We’ll see, maybe I should go get myself some caffiene.

Hey, it’s great to be here! My workout plan for today is an outdoorsy type one. We’re off to go camping, so it’ll involve setting things up, and then maybe a hike in the woods. Should be fun!

Have fun playing “Jillian”!!!!! Very cool!
