Something is Better than Nothing

I’m super excited that the weekend is finally here! I’ve been waiting all week for my hiking trip with STJ today. I woke up to run a super short distance of two miles. I figured something is better than nothing!

Its actually the distance I planned on running today.  I’m trying to prevent plantar faciitis.

Last weekend, I made a rookie mistake.  It was gorgeous out so the Husband and I decided to walk everywhere we went on Saturday.  I ended up accumulating over 5 miles of walking in flip flops!!  When I ran on Sunday, my plantar fascia was hurting.  It actually hasn’t stopped hurting since.  I’m hoping this little device will help prevent this pain turning into an actual injury.

I have no idea when or where we got this teeny roller, but I hope its helping cause it sure hurts!

I’m off to hike in Harriman State Park.  I love visiting Rockland County.  Have a great Saturday!

Have any of you dealt with plantar fasciitis or have any tips on preventing it?

I’m from Rockland County!!! My parents live 20 minutes south of Bear Mountain! It’s such a boring county but I miss it so much! Nobody ever knows where it is until I mention the Palisades Mall or Bear Mountain. lol Hope your foot feels better and have fun on your hike!

I dealt with plantar fasciitis last summer because I wore my flip flops EVERYWHERE! It could have also been due to the fact tht I ran outside more often, which tends to destroy my body in more ways than one :( Once I stopped wearing the flip flops and instead started wearing shoes that supported my foot much better, it went away!

I like you fancy contraption, I hope it works for you, as it sounds like your PF may be a little different than mine.

Oh try to prevent it from getting worse. I have plantar fasciitis and have to sleep with a night splint… Have a great weekend!

Oh flip flops, I cannot imagine. I have a mild case of plantar faciatis as well and I almost NEVER where sandals of any kind. Lots of calf strengthening exercises have helped me. Also some really cheap orthotics from the drug store, but you have to be careful because if you get the wrong ones, it might make it worse.

I went to a weekend musical festival once and spent the WHOLE. WEEKEND. walking around in flip flops and my arches ached for days afterwords! It didn’t even occur to me until later it was because of my flip flops.

    That’s a neat little gizmo, I hope it’s helps!
