Downward Facing Dog

Last night I was a text book case of how to be prepared for a morning workout.  I laid out my bike clothes, pumped up my tires, set the timer on the coffee maker for 5:00 am. and went to bed early.  Yet, despite all my tactics, I missed my bike ride.

Apparently, setting my alarm clock for the correct time was the biggest obstacle to today’s workout.  Since my friends were already riding, I decided I would just get in a good core/strength training workout at the gym.  I never seem to get in enough core and strength training, so it was meant to be.

Do you have a pet?  The only thing I have is pet envy.  I wish we had a doggie, but our teeny apartment just isn’t big enough.  I just heard a clip from tonight’s 11 pm newscast about yoga for dogs.  Would you consider taking your dog to a yoga class?  If I had a dog I know I’d give it a try.

After this mornings post, I’ve gotten a few questions about how to become a group ex instructor.  I’ll be writing about that soon, if you have any specific questions you want answered about teaching classes, let me know.

Have a great workout and don’t forget to double check that alarm clock!

I have pet envy right now too!!! I’ve been dying to get a puppy, but J says no. Which is totally understandable with our lifestyle right now. But, if I had a dog, I’d definitely try that class with them. It would certainly be interesting.

I have two dogs here, but I have a large (suburban) backyard. I don’t think I could take these two guys to dog yoga. They are well-behaved, but one is old and hard of hearing and the other is a big time snuggler… he hardly leaves my side.

I’m not opposed to dog yoga. I’d probably do it with another dog, I just don’t feel mine are cut out for it. But, who knows, maybe I would be pleasantly surprised!

I’ve got one dog…my baby Missy. I would like to have another dog in about a year. I want to rescue one from a shelter too. Yea, I’ve tried doggie yoga but in the comfrt of my home. Missy wasn’t feeling it.

I have a dog and I would not bring him to yoga! But he does do a mean downward dog!

When I plop myself down in my home gym to do any type of floor work like push ups, he licks my arms or jumps on my back. Which is cute, but distracting.

He IS great for long walks and sprints, however.

Oh, and we’ll be doing the Walk for the Animals charity event for the Humane Society this weekend. So we’ll both get a little extra workout.

I have pet envy, too! We just bought a new house and my hubby doesn’t want to ‘dirty’ it up with a pet. I really want one!

If I had a dog, I would not have it do yoga, unless it was a cheap class! I want a dog so bad, but like you, I live in a small apartment and it just wouldn’t be fair to the dog. When I start making money I would consider a dog, and some yoga :)

Thanks for your answer on my blog, by the way. I am posting about it today, as it was the best one I received!
