Make-up Sesh

2009 August 28
by Jess

I owe you an apology.

The Hubby just informed me that my last post reads as if I’m bragging about the number of push-ups I can do.  I totally didn’t mean it that way and hope that you can forgive me???
sorry

What did I really mean by all of this push-up nonsense?  Remember this post?

Specifically this part: “Now, I’m curious to see how many modified push-ups I can do compared to regular ones. hmm….  I bet the ration is 3:1…”

Today’s challenge wasn’t meant to come across as an opportunity to boast about the number of push-ups I can do.  I was ( and still am) curious to see what the ratio of regular push-ups to modified push-ups would be across the board. It is seems I missed the boat with my point.

Now, looking at my nonsense about push-ups and my prior workout for the day, I annoy myself.  I know I probably wouldn’t want to hear Jillian Michaels or any other trainer bragging about their fitness level.  Therefore, I hear-by promise not to post numbers about my fitness test results again.

Its suppose to rain this weekend so I’ll have lots of time to have a make-up sesh with you. ;)

Hopefully, I can redeem myself tomorrow with Part II of “The Best Use of a Kitchen Towel.”

Awww, your hubbie is just looking out for you. I didn’t take it that way at all! Thanks for the make-up sesh (haha, that sounds kind of sunny if you think about it..)

I didn’t think you sounded like you were bragging at all!! Honestly. I think it’s awesome that you posted how many push ups you can do and think it’s a great motivator for you!

I too didn’t think you were bragging about then number of push-ups you can do. I also think it is a motivator for yourself and you should be able to post what you accomplished. I’m very curious about how many modified push-ups I can do as well. I plan on doing some this morning and then I will post my results on your last post. I find the comparison will be interesting, I don’t think it is a competition :) Have a good weekend!

I agree with the prev comments that it didn’t come off as braggy to me either. But at the time same I appreciate having someone in your life who can keep you in check and give you a little insight as to how you’re coming off. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to question what your putting out here – at least to some extent. I do it too.

But personally – I looked at it as something to aim for! I like the numbers, but I guess it’s a personal preference. I often post about my pace and times with running because I like to read about other people’s pace, distance, time, etc – but I’m a numbers gal, what can I say.

I just went back to reread the post and I commented but it’s not there?? Anyway – My ratio seems to be 2:1. I can do 20 regular pushups and I did 40 girl pushups. 113 is AMAZING and I swear I don’t think it’s braggy at all. I LOVE IT!

Alison, I think my spam filter is working a little too good these days. I kinda don’t know exactly how it works, and it doesn’t show me what it filters out. I had 12 spam comments yesterday which is unusual.

Thank you, for your sweet comments and for comparing your regular push-ups to modified ones.

Homegirl, if I could do what you can do (re: pushups like G.I. Jane and running marathons) I would be bragging ALL up and down the internet. Push up what yo’ mamma gave ya!

You totally rock! (although if you felt like a lame-o, I hope you’re feeling less lame after the make-up :) )
